What is the Opportunity?

RBC offers an exciting role as a Pension Delivery Consultant. This position will be to guide individuals through the transition from employment to active retirement and manage any changes during the retirement lifecycle. Promote a participatory work environment that encourages team spirit and professional self-development. The consultants serve to provide best in class client experience throughout the retirement lifecycle.

What will you do?

  • To ensure effective efficient and accurate administration of the RBC Pension Plans.
  • To perform/review pension data and calculations in accordance with plan text, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Calculate pension entitlement for retiring RBC Defined Benefit plan members.
  • Act as a resource to advise plan members and department staff on clarification, application of by-laws, legislation, and actuarial concepts in determining appropriate action to be taken in more complex cases (in support of Pension Advisors).
  • Participation in implementation and maintenance of changes/enhancements and testing to the pension administration system (Benplus).
  • Support annual valuation requirements in providing information and responses to the data queries.
  • To perform and/or assist in the development, design, implementation and administration of pension plan policies and programs within RBC when requested, (driven by COE).

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 3 to 5 years of Defined Benefit pension administration experience (including complex retirement, termination, death, and marriage breakdown calculations).
  • Advanced knowledge of Defined Benefit pension plans and provincial pension and tax legislation.
  • Experience reviewing pension calculations and member transactions.
  • The ability to lead projects, taking ownership and accountability for assigned tasks.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with ease.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Post-secondary education (preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science) or relevant courses related to Pension Administration.

Nice-to-have:

  • French language skills.
  • SAP knowledge.
  • Benplus knowledge.
  • Business knowledge Functional Expertise.
