We’re growing in Canada and seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer to join the team, delivering projects across mining and renewables.

We offer flexibility that works for you and hybrid working options that mean this role could be based at any of the following locations: British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario.

Here’s what you can expect in your new role with EMM: Effectively manage the full project lifecycle for mining clients across Canada, from proposal support through to final project delivery.

  • Provide quality advice to your peers, assisting them in developing their own skills and technical knowledge.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical advice and actionable guidance
  • Partner with the Water Resources team to enhance collective capability and identify new skillsets that broaden our technical and project delivery offering
  • The support you need to deliver exceptional quality with specialist teams across EMM and leaders who are truly present and excited to help you deliver

Here’s what you’ll bring to have impact:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, water resources, or environmental engineering, with significant experience in hydrology/water engineering or related fields, working in mining.
  • Minimum 10 years related experience.
  • Leading hydrology and water resources components of projects from baseline assessments through permitting, operations, and closure.
  • Developing mine water management plans, water balance studies, water quality assessment and surface water/stormwater management, risk assessments, and water management infrastructure designs
  • Assisting in environmental flow needs (EFN) assessments, fish habitat loss assessments, habitat offsetting studies, and designs related to habitat compensation plans. Experience with incorporating Climate Change effects into hydrologic assessments.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the province of BC is essential.
  • Demonstrated project management capability, including successful project delivery, budget monitoring, schedule and deliverable tracking, and evaluation of project outcomes.
  • Proficiency in and/or experience with modelling software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, GoldSim, R/Python, as well as handling hydrological datasets

Additional information: The salary range for this position is $130000 to $160000. Offered salary will be determined based on individual qualifications and experience.
