Reports to: Maintenance Leader - Batching
Responsibilities
-
Programming a touch screen user interface and various electronic components (microcontrollers, sensors, motors, actuators, etc.) and integrating them with the workflow in the user interface.

Developing QR code enabled material management system integrating the controller with a simple mobile app and an external database.

Designing and manufacturing a PCB to connect all the electronics.

Sourcing off-the-shelf components and custom parts from manufacturers.
-
Prototyping, testing, debugging, and iterating the system.

Study drawings, manuals, and specifications to build systems as scheduled while applying all pertinent electrical codes.

Prioritize and schedule multiple projects, time management with respect to all phases of a project.

Assemble and coordinate multiple staff when larger projects require team efforts.
-
Document and keep organized notes on project status and R&D records for future reference.

Research and develop application and use of products involved in a project.
-
Record project non-conformances as per ISO policy.
-
Observe all Safety rules and promote a safe working environment with team members.

Maintain strict GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
-
Always comply with all rules & policies regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc.

Compliance with the Company's Integrated Management Systems which includes, but is not limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP.

Other duties as assigned.
Profile
- 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician license is a must.
- Having a valid 442A Industrial Electrician is considered a strong asset.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an electrician, preferably in an industrial or food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of automation systems, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motion control, sensors, and actuators.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing high-speed filling and packaging systems.
- Experience in PCB design, programming languages, and electronic systems integration is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with stakeholders across functions.
- Adaptable to changes in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Must comply with company requirements for photo ID, valid SIN, banking details, and (if applicable) a valid work permit.
