About the role
The Bloorview Research Institute at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital invite applications for a scientist in the field of precision health.
The successful candidate will lead a stellar program of research with a focus on development, and children and youth with disabilities and developmental differences, and their families. The individual will be responsible for securing competitive research funding, attracting, and training excellent graduate students, leading impactful scholarly outputs and other knowledge translation activities that lead to meaningful outcomes for children with disabilities and differences.
Candidates must have: a PhD in a related field, and a proven record of data science expertise and experience with multiple data modalities including genomics, neuroimaging, and clinical data in the context of chilhood disability. Demonstrated innovation in childhood disability research and a promising track record of scholarship are required. Post-doctoral training or equivalent is preferred.
Candidates must be eligible for an appointment in a cognate department/institute at the University of Toronto.
Competencies required include: ability to formulate and lead an innovative research program in precision health for children with disabilities and neurodevelopmental differences ; superb scientific writing abilities; ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams in an interdisciplinary academic environment, ability to effectively communicate with faculty of diverse backgrounds, clincians, and families; strong grasp of knowledge translation practices; exemplary mentorship skills with potential to train the next generation of innovative scientists; excellent teaching and presentation skills; and proven analytical skills and critical thinking.
