The Ministry of Highways is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent project management, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills to join the Project Management Support unit within the Project Support Office. As a Senior Project Support Manager, you will form part of a provincial team that serves a wide range of stakeholders including, but not limited to, ministry staff, contractors, and consultants.
As a Senior Project Support Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing and assisting in the development and documentation of project management standards, policies, procedures, templates, tools, and best practices related to the delivery of highway infrastructure projects;
- Working collaboratively with other ministry branches and external stakeholders to develop project management standards;
- Providing support to stakeholders during project delivery to ensure consistent application of project management standards;
- Supporting and maintaining the project management software (e-Builder) utilized in the delivery of highway infrastructure projects, including development of the governance structure;
- Managing and supporting the contract administration staff who provide services related to administration of professional service agreements and publicly tendered contracts;
- Developing metrics and tools for project tracking, analysis, and reporting on project status, performance, risk, and trends;
- Managing the distribution of documents on the ministry’s platform used for communicating with the public, contractors, and consultants in coordination with other branches in the ministry;
- The assessment and analysis of alternate procurement delivery options for projects in collaboration with other ministry branches;
- Delivering provincial training to stakeholders on the e-Builder software and project management standards;
- Identifying gaps and initiating changes required to project management standards, policies, procedures, and the e-Builder software;
- Managing consulting firms engaged to assist in the development of project management policies, practices, and standards;
- Participating in or leading ministry committees related to project management; and,
- Providing mentoring and professional development to junior positions within the Project Management Support Unit.
To qualify for the Senior Project Support Manager position, you must possess a degree in engineering from an accredited university or have sufficient relevant work experience, and be eligible for registration as a professional engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).
