About the role

Job Summary

The Manager of Human Resources is responsible for leading the human resources functions within a regulated environment of a publicly traded company. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this role oversees the delivery of HR services and programs across the organization.

The Manager, Human Resources leads and develops a high‑performing HR team, ensuring people strategies align with business objectives, regulatory expectations and serves as a trusted advisor to leaders on workforce planning, effective hiring, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and organizational effectiveness. The role requires strong knowledge of employment and human legislation in multiple provinces.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Uphold the division and Olympia’s reputation and values, while promoting our motto “With Us, It’s Personal” in all interactions with employees, clients, and business associates.
  • Partner closely with the Chief People Officer to execute the organization’s people strategy and support enterprise‑wide initiatives.
  • Lead, coach and develop a professional HR team to deliver consistent, high‑quality HR services across the organization.
  • Designs business strategies into effective HR initiatives that support growth, risk management, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure HR policies, programs, and practices comply with applicable employment legislation, regulatory requirements, and internal governance standards
  • Provide oversight of full-cycle recruitment ensuring hiring practices are efficient and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, accommodations, and terminations
  • Oversee the performance management framework, ensuring fair, consistent, and effective application across the organization
  • Support leaders in managing performance, engagement, and workplace issues.
  • Support the design, administration, and governance of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Collaborate on annual compensation review and incentive programs.
  • Champion organizational values and culture.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and improvement of the employee experience.
  • Flexible to perform various assigned tasks as requested by management and executives.

Formal Education and Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive human resources experience, including leadership of HR teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, commerce or related field.
  • CPHR designation.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (financial services, trust company, banking, insurance, or similar) is an asset.
  • Experience managing a Human Resources team.

Specialized Skills or Knowledge

  • Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Hands-on and leadership experience in a medium‑sized organization.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Background check is required.
