Position Summary:
We’re looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Genetics Technical Quality Specialist to provide laboratory leadership, discipline-specific technical expertise, and quality management support to Operations. This is an on-site role based in Toronto, ON, with an expectation to be onsite five days per week.

In this role, you’ll help ensure that laboratory processes, procedures, and systems remain current and compliant with evolving scientific advancements, technical developments, and regulatory requirements within your area of Medical Laboratory Science. You’ll play a key role in supporting quality initiatives, driving continuous improvement, and partnering with cross-functional teams to maintain high standards of patient care and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide troubleshooting, technical expertise, and quality systems support for laboratory methodologies, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensure policies, processes, procedures, and documentation remain current and aligned with applicable regulations, legislation, and best practices.
  • Develop, implement, and support validation and evaluation protocols for new technologies, equipment, software, and procedures.
  • Lead discipline-specific initiatives and contribute as a subject matter expert on cross-functional projects.
  • Support quality assurance and quality improvement activities, including audits, performance indicators, and non-conformance investigations, with associated reporting and action planning.
  • Review and interpret data from discipline-specific quality control and proficiency testing programs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support operational and quality objectives.
  • Provide technical and quality support to cross-functional partners, including Medical/Scientific, Supply Chain, Business Development, and IT teams.

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum of 3 years of discipline-specific laboratory experience.
  • College diploma in Genetics Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).
  • Strong technical expertise and understanding of quality systems within a laboratory environment.
  • Solid knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and the ability to assess associated business impacts.
  • Experience supporting audits, non-conformance investigations, and corrective action processes.
  • Strong risk assessment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills for documentation development and maintenance.
  • Well-developed organizational, project management, and change management skills.

What We Offer:
Salary range: $74,941– $95,549 CAD annually (commensurate with experience).
