About the role

About inecta Food

inecta Food is a cloud ERP platform purpose-built for the food and beverage industry, trusted by processors, manufacturers, distributors, and retailers across North America and around the globe for over 20 years. Our platform connects every part of the business — from recipe management, lot traceability, and warehouse automation to financial management, demand forecasting, and CRM — delivered through fast, focused implementations and hands-on industry expertise.

Role Summary

We’re looking for a Senior Solutions Consultant who operates at the intersection of presales, solution architecture, and product development. This is a hybrid role designed for a consultant who brings deep hands-on functional expertise with the architectural thinking of a seasoned Solutions professional — plus a genuine passion for selling.

You’ll lead product demos that excite and convert prospects, travel on-site to conduct gap analysis and requirements discovery, architect holistic ERP solutions across multiple functional areas, and write the user stories that improve our product. You’ll partner with the sales team to advance deals through the presales cycle and support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

inecta Food Product Expertise

You’re one of the most knowledgeable people in the room. Your product depth is what makes demos compelling, gap analyses credible, and solutions architecturally sound.

  • Define and architect holistic solutions leveraging any and all capabilities of inecta Food to optimally address client business requirements

  • Maintain top-tier expertise across multiple major functional areas of inecta Food — such as accounting, warehouse, and manufacturing — with a solid grasp of cross-area solution design

  • Identify which features and functions are most appropriate for a given client situation and translate that into a complete, well-scoped solution

  • Stay current on product releases, new features, and roadmap items to continuously sharpen demo and advisory quality

Presales Demos & Consultative Selling

This role sits at the heart of inecta’s growth. You’ll lead tailored, compelling product demonstrations that go well beyond feature walkthroughs — using every demo as an opportunity to actively sell the vision of what inecta can do for each specific prospect.

  • Design and deliver tailored demos that speak directly to a prospect’s industry, pain points, and operational goals

  • Use storytelling, live scenarios, and real-world food & beverage workflows to create genuine excitement and drive engagement

  • Guide clients and prospects to understand business best practices and which inecta features are most appropriate for their situation, across all functional areas

  • Answer escalated questions with confidence during and after demo sessions; provide pre-sales support to the sales team

  • Partner with sales team members to advance deals through the presales cycle and help close new business

  • Act as an inecta brand ambassador in every client interaction — positioning our product as the clear, best-fit solution

  • Leverage inecta-designed tools and frameworks for demos, objection handling, and prospect Q&A

On-Site Requirements Gathering & Gap Analysis

You’ll travel to prospect and client facilities to conduct structured discovery sessions — understanding their current environment, workflows, and future needs, then mapping those findings directly to inecta’s capabilities.

  • Conduct on-site (and virtual) requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders across operations, finance, warehouse, and production

  • Perform thorough gap analysis: document what the client does today, what they need tomorrow, and where inecta meets, exceeds, or requires customization to fit

  • Develop clear “as-is / to-be” process documentation that serves both the sales process and downstream implementation

  • Identify risks, dependencies, and integration requirements early in the presales cycle

  • Translate on-site findings into solution architecture recommendations and scoping documentation

  • Ensure all discovery outputs are captured in inecta’s tools and shared with the broader delivery team

Product Enhancement Design & Story Writing

You bring the voice of the client into the product. When discovery and gap analysis reveal gaps or opportunities in inecta’s capabilities, you design the solutions and write the stories that drive development.

  • Identify product enhancement opportunities surfaced through presales discovery, gap analysis, and ongoing client delivery

  • Design functional solutions for new features or enhancements, balancing the specific client use case with scalability across inecta’s broader customer base

  • Write user stories at all levels — from epics through detailed acceptance criteria — across a range of functional areas, following inecta standards

  • Lead the architecting of complex, multi-functional-area solutions through well-structured story sets

  • Use the inecta Team AI solution to initiate and accelerate story creation, then review, refine, and validate all outputs for accuracy, completeness, and correctness

  • Collaborate with development and product teams to ensure stories are well-scoped and built to meet real-world client needs

Testing, Documentation & Project Tracking

Quality and accuracy carry through from presales all the way into delivery. Everything you produce — from discovery documents to user stories to test results — meets inecta’s standards.

  • Test and document per inecta standards; verify that modifications meet client needs and product expectations

  • Create “business problem solved” and “best practices” documentation, as well as “how to” and full workflow documentation that is clear, correct, and client-ready

  • Keep all assigned project plan lines and DevOps work items correct and up to date; ensure the complete project plan for your areas is accurate and current

Requirements

inecta Food & Business Central Knowledge

Top-tier expertise across multiple major functional areas of inecta Food — such as accounting, warehouse, and/or manufacturing — with a strong, holistic understanding of inecta Food and/or Microsoft Dynamics Business Central / Navision and how solutions are designed and architected across those areas.

Consulting & Implementation Experience

Significant consulting experience, including a major role in at least 5 successful ERP implementations — ideally as project lead or lead consultant on Business Central, Navision, or inecta Food. Client-side enterprise experience with major involvement in internal BC/NAV/inecta Food implementation also considered.

Presales & Selling Skills

Demonstrated experience in the presales cycle including tailored product demos, solution presentations, and objection handling. A genuine enthusiasm for showcasing technology and helping prospects see themselves in the solution is essential. Experience advancing and closing deals in a consultative sales environment is a strong plus.

Requirements Gathering & Gap Analysis

Proven ability to conduct structured on-site discovery sessions, document current-state processes, identify gaps between client needs and available solutions, and produce clear, actionable recommendations. Experience facilitating multi-stakeholder workshops across finance, operations, and warehouse functions preferred.

Story Writing & Product Development Collaboration

Experience writing user stories, functional specifications, or requirements documents for software development teams. Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar agile project management tools strongly preferred.

Travel & On-Site Work

Willing and able to travel approximately 25%. Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid passport. Physically and mentally able to navigate food client facilities, including standing and walking for extended periods, loud environments, bright or flashing lights, climbing stairs and ladders, and wearing protective/sanitary gear such as hair nets, gloves, boots, lab coats, or coveralls. Must be comfortable in proximity to food products including raw meat and/or live animals, and able to react appropriately to visual and auditory safety cues.

Strong Plus

  • Strong general technical literacy including Excel proficiency and understanding of how databases work

  • Experience in the food and beverage industry, especially around processing, manufacturing, and/or distribution

  • Experience with software design, system integrations, and APIs

  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps for story, task, and project management

Education & Skills

  • Degree in accounting, finance, business, MIS, computer information systems, or similar — or equivalent experience

  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills

  • Self-starter who works well independently and thrives as a collaborative team player

Benefits

  • Competitive salary

  • Compensation bonus opportunity

  • Remote work

  • Annual paid time off benefits

  • Medical, Dental, Life, and Disability insurance plans

  • No waiting period on benefits

  • RRSP
