About the role
A Datasphere Architec t leads the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise data architecture using SAP Datasphere (formerly SAP Data Warehouse Cloud) and related technologies. This role is pivotal in enabling a scalable, secure, and governed data ecosystem that supports advanced analytics, business intelligence, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. Hybrid position not fully remote working full time for Capgemini.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement end-to-end data solutions using SAP Datasphere, integrating with SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Design data models (semantic, logical, and physical) that support business reporting, analytics, and machine learning use cases.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable architecture and pipelines.
- Ensure data governance and compliance by implementing best practices in data security, lineage, cataloging, and access control.
- Optimize performance of data flows, queries, and storage within Datasphere and connected systems.
- Lead data integration efforts across cloud and on-premise environments using tools like SAP Data Intelligence, SAP BW/4HANA, or third-party ETL platforms.
- Mentor and guide data engineers, analysts, and developers on best practices in data architecture and SAP Datasphere usage.
- Stay current with emerging trends in data architecture, cloud platforms, and SAP technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or BI development.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with SAP Datasphere or SAP Data Warehouse Cloud.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, SQL, data integration, and cloud data platforms (e.g., SAP BTP, Azure, AWS).
- Experience with SAP HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, or SAP Data Intelligence is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and tools (e.g., SAP Data Catalog, Collibra, Alation).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
- SAP certification in Datasphere or related technologies.
- Experience with data mesh or data fabric architectures.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Exposure to machine learning pipelines and AI integration.
