As Coulson Aviation continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Senior Aerospace Designer to join our Design team in Port Alberni, BC. In this full-time, onsite position, you will lead innovative aircraft design projects and take ownership of complex structural aircraft modifications that support aerial firefighting operations worldwide.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Design structural and mechanical installations, modifications, and repairs using CATIA V5.
  • Oversee both new designs and revisions to existing ones.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the design team.
  • Prepare reports and data packages for design approval and certification.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and other departments to support aircraft modifications.
  • Assist in the development and updates of the Design Manual.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • A degree in Aerospace Engineering. 
  • At least 15 years of aerospace design experience.
  • At least five years of experience using CATIA V5.
  • Advanced knowledge of aircraft sheet-metal design, machined components, and mechanical installations.
  • Knowledge of aircraft certification requirements, aerospace materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
