Job Description Database Developer This is a remote working as part of Fidelity’s dynamic working arrangement.
Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings. What You Will Do The Software Developer is responsible for having a strong aptitude for understanding complex business problems and translating their technical knowledge into practical, implementable solutions that will drive high impact business value.
He/she works closely with other team members to maintain internal applications and develop new products and services.
- Work with stakeholders, technology, and agile project managers to define business requirements for every scrum / project and map out end-to-end solutions.
- Design, develop, enhance, modify, and maintain application code and software solutions based on specific business requirements.
- Liaise with internal user groups as needed to effectively program applications based on business and systems requirements.
- Ensures that functional specifications can be implemented technically while developing and innovating creative solutions.
- Be an integral part of the Information System’s team focused on the effective development and support of internal facing applications.
- Work collaboratively with peers and business partners to deliver high quality projects and innovative solutions that advance Fidelity’s position within the Mutual Fund Industry.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Economics or Mathematics.
- 4+ years of related experience
- Knowledge and experience in developing applications for mutual fund/investment industry
- Passionate in developing database solutions
- Development experience in Progress OpenEdge or other database platforms such as Oracle or MySQL
- Effective communication skills with ability to prepare project documentation & presentations
