Job Title: Housekeeping/Staff Housing Supervisor

Reports to: Housekeeping Manager for most of the work and the People and Culture Manager will provide executive oversight on Staff Housing Department: Housekeeping Job Summary The Housekeeping /Staff Housing Supervisor helps ensure the cleanliness and professional presentation of guest rooms and common areas. As a “working supervisor” and key member of the leadership team, you will lead by example, actively participating in cleaning and preparation tasks alongside the housekeeping team. Your role involves training, coaching, inspecting rooms, preparing room lists, and assisting with scheduling. The Staff Housing Supervisor role involves oversees the day-to-day operations of staff accommodation consisting of four residential units. The role ensures a safe, clean, respectful, and well-maintained living environment that supports employee well-being and retention. Clear communication and strong organizational skills are essential for success. 80% Housekeeping Supervisor 20% Housing Supervisor .

Key Responsibilities

Leadership Lead and mentor the housekeeping team, fostering consistent improvement and attention to detail. Demonstrate leadership by setting a high standard in work quality and professionalism. Provide guidance and training to ensure a safe, productive, and positive work environment. Exhibit behaviors that align with Vantage’s culture and values: Love it, Own it, Share it, Solve it, Laugh. Assist the Housekeeping Manager with performance feedback and evaluations. Motivate the team through recognition and positive reinforcement to enhance morale and performance.

Daily Operations

Prepare and assign room lists to Room Attendants when the Housekeeping Manager is unavailable. Create or adjust staff schedules to meet operational needs when required. Inspect all rooms to ensure quality standards are met and clear them for the Front Desk. Coordinate room stripping with Laundry and Room Attendants to maintain efficiency. Perform housekeeping duties, including bed making, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms and rooms, laundry, and general light maintenance. Ensure housekeeping rooms and carts are fully stocked with linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies. Assist with monitoring inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities, ordering as needed to control costs. Work quickly and efficiently without compromising quality. Communicate frequently with the Front Desk regarding room readiness. Address guest complaints and requests with professionalism and kindness, and proactively engage with guests to enhance satisfaction and accommodate special requests. Report technical issues or maintenance needs to the Hotel Manager or Maintenance Manager. Assist with training and coaching new employees. Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety policies and training. Provide input for performance evaluations as needed. Maintain accurate records, such as room status reports, maintenance logs, or incident reports, to support operational efficiency.

Staff Housing Operations

Manage employee housing inventory linen packages given and returned. Coordinate move-ins, move-outs, inspections, and room allocations. Maintain housing agreements, occupancy records, and rental deductions. Ensure compliance with company policies, staff housing handbook manual, local bylaws, health, fire, and safety regulations. Coordinate repairs, preventative maintenance, and vendor relationships. Responsible for move out cleans. Reporting to People & Culture Manager regarding damage deposit refunds. Conduct regular inspections of units and common areas; report and follow up on maintenance, cleanliness, and safety issues. Respond to resident concerns and minor conflicts in a fair, professional manner; escalate serious issues as needed. Maintain inventory of furnishings, linens, and supplies; coordinate cleaning and restocking. Ensure compliance with Alberta residential tenancy guidelines, health & safety standards, and hotel policies. Serve as the primary point of contact for staff housing matters and liaise with hotel management, maintenance, and housekeeping.

Employee Experience

Create a welcoming environment for seasonal and long-term employees. Promote respectful shared-living standards and community expectations. Support employee wellbeing, inclusion, and sense of belonging. 3. Recruitment & Retention Support Support People & Culture Manager and General Manager to forecast housing needs. Improve employee retention through a positive housing experience. Monitor occupancy trends and recommend housing strategies for future seasons.

Emergency Response & Safety

Serve as a point of contact for housing emergencies. Support management with emergency preparedness plans for employee residences. Respond to incidents involving health, safety, security, or property damage reporting to People & Culture Manager/Maintenance Manager.
