Position Overview

Start Date: January 5, 2026

Eligibility: Students must be enrolled in a formal co-op/internship program with their post-secondary institution OR Students must be returning to their post-secondary institution after this work term

The Role

We are seeking a Marketing Co-op Student to be a part of our Canadian Crude Oil Marketing Team. The Canadian Crude Oil Marketing Team is responsible for selling our produced oil, securing diluent for blending with our bitumen, and managing a variety of assets involved in the movement of our oil from the production location to downstream markets (storage and pipeline). Within this team, the Co-op Student role plays an integral part in understanding trade data and volumetric flows to downstream customers, as well as ensuring data is prepared accurately for accruals and settlement and adheres to trade policies.

During your work term, we will push you to be your best by exposing you to challenging projects and giving you the opportunity to take ownership of your work term. You will gain practical experience, develop technical skills to complement your academic learning, and gain exposure to future opportunities at our company. To succeed, you’ll need to cultivate and communicate a clear vision and set goals for yourself, whilst also juggling individual country specific targets.

Some of the key responsibilities of the Marketing Co-op Student will be:

  • Managing transaction/deal flow through the system from execution to actualization for Canadian Crude oil production (Long Lake and Syncrude).
  • Position/Inventory monitoring.
  • Deal confirmation with external parties.
  • Junior scheduling activities (logistics of getting crude oil to market).
  • Market analysis and research (supply/demand, pricing, impact of new regulations, etc.).
  • Liaising with Accounting and Credit teams to ensure timely and accurate month end reporting and cash settlement.
  • Develop/improve internal and external slide content for management presentations.
  • Manage existing processes and develop new ones to track market data and competitor/counterparty/infrastructure data.

  • Eligible to work in Canada.

  • Courses in oil and gas or energy sector would be an asset.
