Roads 2 Operator
(1 Existing Full Time Position**)**
INTERNAL JOB POSTING
The Town of Wasaga Beach is seeking to promote a Roads “1” OIT to the Roads “2” Operator classification. This position involves performing all duties associated with the Roads “2” Operator role, including but not limited to the operation of heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
Qualifications:
- Ontario Secondary School diploma (or equivalent);
- Possess a valid Ontario Driver’s Class “DZ” License;
- Knowledge and experience in the safe operation of the following pieces of equipment including but not limited to loader, tractor, grader, Gradall, backhoe/loader, snow blower, excavator, and any other equivalent rental equipment that requires Roads 2 qualifications;
- Demonstrated knowledge of servicing and road construction requirements and techniques, heavy-duty truck and equipment safety;
- Perform other such duties as may be assigned from time to time normally assigned to other job classifications;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to complete forms and records accurately;
- Knowledge and understanding of, and ability to apply, relevant safety policies and operating procedures, standards and legislation (Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, etc.);
- CPR and First Aid Training preferred;
- Ability to provide current acceptable criminal reference check and Driver’s Abstract upon promotion;
Hourly Wage: Asper the Collective Agreement
Additional Information
- Written, oral and practical testing will be part of the selection process.
- The successful candidate will be subject to the Collective Agreement Article 11.05 “Trial Period” and Schedule “A.”
