About the role
Overview:
As the Estimatics Specialist, you will be responsible for documenting, developing, and continuously improving physical damage estimating processes. The role involves managing relationships and collaborating with multi-functional teams to identify needs, seize opportunities, and drive enhancements. The Estimatics Specialist collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders to explore new or untapped product technology and functionality to apply to new or existing estimating process in line with Manitoba Public Insurance’s (MPI) vision and corporate objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Research and evaluate new or untapped technology to drive innovation and improve the estimating processes and achieve long-term strategic vision.
- Engage, influence and lead stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.
- Investigate collision repair management industry best practices across jurisdictions.
- Gather and translate collision estimating business needs into use cases and acceptance criteria.
- Develop recommendations and proof of concept pilot programs to improve the estimating process for accuracy, efficiency and cost containment.
- Implement and oversee overall product life-cycle management working closely with cross functional teams.
- Provide clear and concise progress and milestone tracking reports to lead project teams, communicate with management, other departments and external stakeholders
- Administer and maintain collision estimating software configuration to ensure it is functioning efficiently and aligned with desired business outcomes.
- Manage collision estimating software releases to minimize risks to existing procedures, identify new opportunities and consult with impacted stakeholders.
- Manage and document add on service requirements such as collision part sourcing software.
- Design, develop, maintain and deliver training materials to internal staff (eg. Estimators, Adjusters) and industry partners (eg. Collision repair shops, parts suppliers).
- Provide ongoing technical support, follow up and education of authorized estimating software use features, Estimating Standards, parts business rules and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Degree in Commerce, Business Analysis, Operations (Production) Management or related discipline.
- Supplementary courses relating to business analysis, process re-engineering, project management is an asset.
Experience:
- Four years of progressive experience managing, analysing and developing business processes, particularly as it involves configuration of automotive collision repair software systems and estimating processes for an insurance carrier.
- Experience in managing software and vendors in a quality assurance capacity is an asset.
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrated business knowledge while leading a project team from planning though delivery.
- Advanced problem-solving skills, recommend innovative solutions that enhance operations and service delivery that may have a significant financial impact.
- Design and construct operational reporting.
- Advanced analytical skills to interpret and synthesize complex information and processes to identify root causes to business issues and propose solution options.
- Advanced communication skills to convey complex information in a concise and straightforward manner.
- Working knowledge of applicable software e.g., Microsoft Office, Visio, and data analysis / management toolsets.
- Working knowledge of collision estimating products (ex. Mitchell, CCC, Audatex)
- Strategic planning skills, build consensus and fostering the necessary momentum to ensure objectives are met.
- Works effectively in a team environment and influence performance of others while adapting to changing information, situations and priorities.
