SUMMARY: The Graduate Assistant position supports the Career and Professional Development Center’s operations by providing employer relations outreach, data analytics, and internal office support.

JOB DETAILS: 15 hours per week at $15 per hour. Candidates may be asked to work remotely or in-person with variable hours. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include The Following:

Completes general duties related to day-to-day department operations & special projects as needed Corresponds with students and employers via telephone and email Reviews Handshake job postings and employer accounts for approval Promotes and gathers First Destination Survey responses for new graduates Compiles reports and analyzes data across all virtual platforms and in-person events Performs research under the direction of the Senior Director Maintains organized and detailed record of projects and regularly updates supervisor on status Attends or assists with student-related events outside of regular schedule, as needed Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree required Current enrollment in a Master’s degree program at St. Mary’s University required Previous work experience in an office setting required Must possess strong skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint), Zoom, and Handshake Strong communication and customer service skills required Must have ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines; thrive in a complex work environment; works well independently and as part of a team Must be conscientious, prompt, and have respect for the confidential nature of the office Must be willing and able to work flexible hours — after normal business hours, some evenings and weekends as needed for Center events and activities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Working conditions are in an office environment and university campus setting. Must be able to move across the university campus to conduct day to day business. While performing this role, the employee will be regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; and use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; and occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently communicates with others using approved technological resources; must be able to exchange accurate information through designated systems within a timely manner. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
