Role Description

The Manager, Communications and Marketing, plays a critical role in strengthening QuadReal’s brand, culture, and employee experience by managing enterprise-wide internal communications, storytelling, and events. This role blends strategic planning with required hands-on execution across multiple channels, to ensure employees are informed, connected, and aligned to QuadReal’s priorities.

The manager brings strong editorial judgment, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to translate complex business updates into engaging, accessible content. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, operate as knowledgeable advisor to business partners, and consistently elevate employee engagement through data-driven insights, brand-aligned storytelling, and modern communications practices.

This individual also shows initiative, depth of research-backed decisions, and project management capabilities. This manager should be confident building relationships across the business, while demonstrating equally a thorough understanding of the business and what is being communicated.

Responsiblities

A successful team member will:

  • Support and manage the planning, content development, and execution of internal communications across all channels – including intranet, a bi-weekly newsletter, corporate emails, corporate events, and other mediums to support business priorities, employee engagement, and corporate culture.
  • Manage and deliver our intranet as a primary enterprise storytelling platform, including content calendar development, content creation, UX evolution, analytics reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives and maintenance (key governance).
  • Collaborate with IT and our platform vendor to implement intranet and SharePoint design updates and functionality improvements in alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Produce high-quality written content that enhances employees’ understanding of QuadReal’s strategy, business performance, and culture. Maintaining strong editorial quality and brand consistency across all internal channels and touchpoints.
  • Manage end-to-end production of the biweekly newsletter, ensuring engaging content, strong design, and alignment with analytics-driven insights. Explore and evaluate newsletter platforms, and tools, along with leadership, to improve design efficiency, delivery performance, engagement, and data reporting.
  • Be responsible for tracking and maintaining metrics across the internal channels and events for reporting to management.
  • Strengthen peer-to-peer recognition programs, including campaign development, reporting, and channel optimization.
  • Work alongside key stakeholders to support full lifecycle delivery of enterprise events, including Town Halls, Research House Views, and Senior Management Meetings, from agenda development, content, speaker support and live production and post-event reporting.
  • Partner with IT to produce high-impact virtual experiences on Teams Town Hall, integrating new engagement features and ensuring technical excellence – as well as ongoing improvement strategy.
  • Implement standardized processes for pre-production, run-of-show, analytics, and post-event survey evaluation to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support and sustain QuadReal’s brand through internal content, channel updates, visual alignment, and storytelling. Manage internal video coordination, corporate photography updates, brand store, and potential manager toolkits.
  • Align all communications with external communications team to ensure message consistency, alignment and team efficiency. Manage cross-platform meetings and schedule.
  • Support content development and storytelling that strengthens QuadReal’s reputation as an employer of choice across internal and external channels
  • Support and develop content for external brand ambassador program. Come with the understanding that employees are our biggest brand proponents and how building a strong employer brand supports QuadReal.
  • Contribute to employer brand initiatives in partnership withfunctions and businesses throughout the organization, including research, content development, external review platform analysis, and awards opportunities. Also, establish and drive brand ambassador program.

Qualifications

  • Eight to 10 years of experience in communications, internal communications, marketing, or related discipline.
  • Degree in marketing and communications or a related field.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills; ability to translate technical content into engaging, accessible communications.
  • Experience managing internal communications channels based on data and insights – develop and primarily deliver content – intranet, newsletters, and corporate events at scale – as well as content for external use.
  • Strong project management and ownership capability with experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives and external vendors.
  • Understanding of complex business and broader enterprise activities. Demonstrates initiative and acumen across the business to drive content development independently.
  • Ability to manage and keep multiple deadlines with speed, work independently, and manage projects from inception to completion on tight timelines and with competing priorities.
  • Self-starter that shows initiative to support the work of the function and lend a helping hand across the team. Curiousity is key.
  • A data-driven mindset with experience interpreting analytics to inform content and channel strategy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across teams and levels.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, intranet management, Microsoft 365 tools, canva and digital tools and virtual event production.
  • Bilingual French an asset.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $100,000 to $135,000 per annum.

Based on the position, QuadReal offers a competitive total rewards package in addition to the base pay, which may include a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, pension plan, and paid time off.

The actual salary offered will take into consideration a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the individual’s skill, experience, education and training, the market compensation of the role, and the consideration to internal equity.
