About the role

Job Description We are looking for a skilled and experienced Welding Superintendent for the Field Services department. The ideal candidate will oversee field and shop service operations, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of on-site installation, repair, and maintenance services. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to upholding CFM's standards of excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Effectively lead and supervise on-site welding crews, ensuring all tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project specifications and quality standards. Provide hands-on technical guidance and support to resolve field-related challenges.
  • Project Management: Interpret bid documents, drawings, specifications, and contracts to develop work plans and determine resource needs. Proactively identify potential project risks and implement mitigation measures.
  • Cost Tracking & Budget Management: Monitor and control project costs, manage purchase orders, and ensure budgets are met. Identify cost-saving opportunities contribute to accurate forecasting of future financial requirements
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure strict compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements across all field services activities. Conduct inspections and audits to verify that mechanical installations meet all required specifications and industry benchmarks.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert technical guidance to field service technicians, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver training on service procedures and best practices to enhance team capability and performance.
  • Client Communication: Foster strong, positive relationships with clients to ensure alignment with project goals. Address inquiries promptly, provide regular updates, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the project

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma required; post-secondary education in a technical field or a college diploma is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in the construction field, with a strong understanding of site operations and project execution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts when required (day/night shift and weekends)
  • Able to travel, including overnights to support business requirements.
