What you'll do
This role works alongside our SATCOM Team to operate and manage the RF systems for our many Satellite Earth Stations. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with numerous internal and external workgroups. You will monitor and triage system alarms, manage Break/Fix incidents, create troubleshooting documents, and assist with resolving technical issues.
Our team is producing groundbreaking technology in the RF world. Come on board and use your detective skills to identify root causes for technical issues as well as develop procedural/technical recommendations for improvement. If you are a sleuth and problem solver then it is time to join our growing team!
The day-to-day

Assist engineers with project taskings including performance of hardware audits, retrofit installation coordination/data gathering, and obsolescence hardware replacement projects.

Perform preventative maintenance actions on RF and Gateway facility hardware.

Coordinate with global work centers, confirm work completion and documenting/tracking follow-up corrective actions with the onsite workforce.

Work with external partners to coordinate site visits for PM/break-fix actions. Communicates scope or work and coordinates parts logistics

Provide technical escalation points to remote contractors, providing troubleshooting guidance based on the established processes. Advances to internal/external teams to drive resolution

Perform check-in/out of all vendors/contractors at remote sites

Validates facilities hardware communications and alarm testing of new site installs

Normal hours are day shift work with rotational night shift required
What you'll need
-
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in a University Technical Program, studying Computer Engineering, Technology Management, or related subject area

Interest in Satellite Radio Frequency Systems and Network Operations Centers
-
Desire to learn about satellite antenna gateways, baseband systems, interfacing networks, and operations centers
-
Ability to work both day shift and occasional night shift

Must be within commutable distance to Sydney Viasat office
