Willowbridge Community Services provides behaviour consultation using applied behaviour analysis (ABA) to support children and adults with developmental disabilities. We explore with individuals their strengths and resources they can use to overcome the challenges they are facing. We use a trauma and attachment informed lens to our behaviour consultation model that is welcoming and safe, where our clients, their families and service providers can find solutions to help reach their potential, harness their strengths and support their goals of participating more fully in their community through work, play and friendship.

The Clinical Technician provides direct support to children, youth and adults in collaboration with the Clinical Therapists. The Clinical Technician will implement programs, deliver trainings and conduct group facilitation in both our funded and fee for service programs.

About The Role:

  • – Collaborate with the individual, family and support team for the successful completion of the goals in the behaviour plan.
  • – Work under the guidance of the Manager, Clinical Supervisor (RBA), and Clinical Therapist to provide behavioural supports to individuals, families and community supports.
  • – Provide support to Clinical Therapists by working directly with clients and providing support in centre, community settings, client homes, supported living arrangements, hospitals etc.
  • – Provide support for clients in a variety of treatment modalities and service models.
  • – Work in collaboration with Willowbridge programs to increase capacity as appropriate.
  • – Develop group curriculum and lead groups in a variety of settings in collaboration with the Clinical Supervisor and/or Clinical Therapists.
  • – Utilize a trauma informed/positive systems approach to support the implementation of the Behaviour Support plan, conduct regular meetings with the family/support staff, review or revise the plan in consultation with the RBA and measure the success in reaching the individuals goals.
  • – Provide on-site trauma informed behaviour consultation or workshops to service providers in the community, such as schools, group homes, and vocational/day program settings.
  • – Advocate on behalf of the individual and/or primary care provider as necessary.
  • – Anticipated schedule Wednesday to Saturday 10am to 6pm. This role will be in person with the occasional opportunity to work remotely.

What We’re Looking For:

  • – Minimum of a college diploma with preference given to Autism and Behavioural Sciences or equivalent or those with a Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) designation or equivalent experience.
  • – Experience with individuals with a developmental disability and with individuals who have a dual diagnosis.
  • – Training in understanding the role of behaviour.
  • – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • – Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • – Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • – Knowledge and understanding of trauma and its effects on attachment and intergenerational trauma. – Understanding of service delivery systems in the not-for-profit sector.
