Security : Reliability
Possession of a valid class 5 Alberta driver’s license or other provincial/territorial equivalency.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and overtime.
Ability and willingness to travel.
Ability and willingness to wear personal protective equipment.
Ability and willingness to control allergies through the use of personal protective equipment and/or medication so as to not impinge on work duties.
Ability and willingness to work with hazardous chemicals and biological materials.
Ability and willingness to work under various environmental and weather conditions.
Ability and willingness to work in office, laboratory, barn, field and feedlot environments.
Ability and willingness to handle large animals in diverse conditions and systems.
Ability and willingness to lift heavy objects up to 25 kg.

Education:
Secondary school diploma or acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience with specialization in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Pasture and Grazing Management, or related program.At a later stage in the selection process, you will be required to provide documentation verifying your educational credentials.If you were educated outside of Canada, you must have your certificates and/or diplomas assessed against Canadian education standards. Experience:
Experience working with large ruminants including Canadian beef cattle or dairy cattle.
Experience sampling, assessing, and analysing animal related samples or feed.
Experience operating or maintaining laboratory, field, or livestock based equipment or technology.
Applied / assessed at a later date
Knowledge:
Knowledge of laboratory methods, procedures, and analyses common to animal nutrition.
Knowledge of Canadian Ruminant Production Systems.
Competencies and Abilities:
Ability to safely handle different types of ruminant livestock.
Adaptability
Concern for Safety
Planning and Organizing
Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
Ability to communicate effectively orally.
