About the role
You are an experienced Superintendent who will play a key role in the delivery of a rail infrastructure project in Oshawa. You have 12+ years of experience working for a general contractor on infrastructure projects. Leveraging your experience and expertise, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient execution of project operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead all aspects of health, safety, and environmental protection on the project.
- Apply the Project Specific Safety Program to ensure full compliance with Ledcor HS&E standards and applicable OH&S legislation.
- Ensure all work is executed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and design drawings while maintaining high quality standards.
- Plan workforce, materials, equipment, and trade requirements to support efficient project delivery.
- Review and update construction schedules; identify delays, develop solutions, and support schedule development.
- Estimate activity durations and material quantities for complex, multi-discipline scopes; support estimating with schedule inputs, execution planning, and labour requirements during pursuits.
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to project team members.
- Supervise employees and subcontractors to successfully deliver project milestones and deliverables.
- Oversee project reporting, ensuring accurate documentation of progress, events, inspections, and site activities.
Qualifications:
- 12+ years of civil construction experience as a Superintendent
- Experience on rail or transportation infrastructure projects preferred; experience working in live rail corridors is highly regarded.
- Background delivering large-scale infrastructure projects for a general contractor in Canada.
- Gold Seal Certificate preferred.
- Experience supporting design and construction in active rail corridors, particularly structural components such as steel, concrete, columns, beams, and related elements for bridges, buildings, and heavy civil structures.
- Knowledge of Design-Build or collaborative contract models is an asset.
- Demonstrated civil and structural infrastructure experience.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental best practices.
- Solid knowledge of modern construction methods and practices.
- Proven ability to promote safe work in high-pressure environments while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget.
- Ability to anticipate constructability issues and develop practical solutions; strong influencing and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiar with scheduling software
