About the role

Duties: Include as needed, assisting individuals on shift (hands on work) with life skills such as cooking, cleaning, planning recreation and leisure, accessing community resources, budgeting, monitoring of client’s finances, problem solving and decision making. Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of Individual Support Plans. Liaison as needed with community resources including medical, mental health, PDD, OPG, OPT and private guardians'trustees. Administrative duties include processing time cards, expense claims, scheduling, ongoing supervision and evaluation of employees. Other management duties are per the job description. Normal shift is 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday, however, some evening and weekend work is required as well as taking part in the On-call rotation.

Qualifications: Post secondary degree/diploma/certificate in Rehabilitation or related discipline. Experience with supporting individuals with hearing impairments, would be an asset for this position. Previous management experience or experience in supervision; proven written and oral communication skills. The person should also have a strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Windows 365 and Share Vision. The candidate will need to possess the ability to work well as a team member, and to exhibit flexibility in responding to the individual’s daily needs. The candidate will need to provide a clear Police Clearance (Vulnerable Sector Check and 6 months or newer), a valid Class 5 driver's license and a vehicle for all shifts worked with a minimum of $1,000,000 insurance and the ability to transport clients.
