About the Role

As a Financial Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting our Corporate Finance team by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and analysis. This position is responsible for a range of accounting functions, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations, cash flow reporting, and preparation of quarterly, monthly, and annual financial statements. You’ll also take the lead on annual audit file preparation, monthly tax remittances, and contribute to the annual budgeting and reforecasting process. This is a hybrid opportunity out of our Surrey, BC office, working 2 days in office.

What to expect in your first 3-6 months:

First 3 months

  • Develop a strong understanding of the Corporate Finance accounting functions.
  • Complete the training on BS reconciliations and get familiar with all BS accounts and types of transactions
  • Complete training on Cash Flow reporting and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Training on Month end closing and reporting requirements
  • Gain understanding with different types of Month end journal entries
  • Learning the customized Sage Intacct settings and applying these skills when preparing reconciliations
  • Monthly Tax remittances

First 6 months:

  • Learn the accounting functions and reporting requirements for different entities

  • Training on quarterly reporting and reforecasting

  • Annual budgeting

  • Annual audit files preparation

What You'll Do

  • Weekly Cash Reporting

  • Main Account Bank Reconciliations

  • Month-End Journal Entries

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation and analysis

  • Tax remittances

  • Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and Financial statements preparation

  • Annual Budgeting and quarterly reforecast

  • Annual Audit files preparation

  • Daily deposits and postings in Sage Intacct

What We're Looking For

  • Completion of a degree or diploma in accounting

  • 2-3 years of full cycle accounting experience

  • MS Excel – Advanced level

  • Experience with Month end closing

  • Experience with Sage Intacct is an asset

  • Experience with Group Benefits is an asset

  • Interest in pursuing an accounting designation is an asset

Compensation

At the time of this posting, the estimated annual base salary for this position is $63,000-68,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and education/training. This range reflects the annual base salary only and does not encompass the comprehensive total rewards package that we proudly offer.
