Classification: TEMPORARY Full Time (Approx. 3 months); Unionized
Salary Range:$28.21 to $31.72 / hour as per Schedule “A”

Duties and Responsibilities:

Acts as a cashier for the Administrative Services Department:
-
Receiving various types of payments and balancing daily cash receipts;
-
Responds to tax inquiries/directs general public.
-
Taxation function:
-
Assists with mailing of tax bills;
-
Posting tax payments to the tax ledger and the general ledger;
-
Preauthorized payments;
-
Other duties as assigned from time to time.

Performs accounts receivable duties:
-
Preparing, posting and sending invoices for all Departments;
-
Processing accounts receivable correspondence;
-
Posting invoice payments and finance charges to the general ledger;
-
Sending notices for overdue accounts;
-
Balancing the accounts receivable accounts.
-
Back up for payroll clerk.
-
Works with other Departments, Regional Assessment Office and the general public.
-
Performs other duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma,
- Tax collection experience required,
- Microsoft Office experience required,
- Cashier experience required including both cash handling and balancing,
- Excellent keyboarding skills and data processing experience required,
- Excellent communication skills and ability to meet and work with the general public,
- Microsoft Dynamics experience would be an asset,
- Accounting and/or business related courses would be an asset.

Works regular office hours and overtime as required.
