Manager, Adult Day Program
About the role
Acclaim Health announces the availability of a Temporary Full-Time Manager, Adult Day and Caregiver Support position to work primarily out of our Oakville location with weekly travel to Burlington and Mississauga locations for a period of fourteen (14) months. This position will work Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00 and requires participation in on-call coverage for evenings, overnights and weekends.
Pay Rate: $39.53- $42.00 per hour
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
- Models and promotes customer service excellence within the Adult Day Programs
- Ensures service delivery models are effective, efficient and client-centred
- Ensures best practice in dementia and older adult care
- Identifies, minimizes and manages client risk in accordance with risk management and incident reporting standards, policies and procedures
- Handles the recruitment, orientation, development and performance management of direct reports
- Schedules and participates in the 24/7 on-call supervisory coverage for day programs and overnight services
- Meets funder and internal performance metrics and ensures compliance with contracts
- Under the direction of the Director, develops and implements quality initiatives aimed at correcting negative variances, addressing gaps, mitigating risks and promoting client safety
- In collaboration with the Director, implements the financial plan and implements plans to address any negative variances
- Participates effectively on internal and external committees
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:
- Baccalaureate Degree, Health/Gerontology/Social Science or equivalent with experience
- Valid Ontario driver’s license, use of vehicle and insurance per Acclaim Health policy
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Minimum 5-8 years of demonstrated business, financial and management experience
- Demonstrated ability in critical thinking, problem-solving and negotiating
- Strong verbal and written communication, assessment and interpersonal skills
- Strong operational planning and project management skills
- Strong business development skills
- Demonstrated knowledge quality and risk management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook and AlayaCare
- Excellent organizational skills, proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently and collaboratively as a team member
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is an active position requiring the individual to be on site for the majority of their work. Individual must be able to multi-task and set priorities in order to meet the needs of the programs. This position requires computer work. There can be times when concentration can be difficult due to frequent interruptions. There are periods of stress when having to meet very tight deadlines. Client/caregiver interaction is required. May be required to wear protective clothing in certain circumstances. Travel is required between day program locations.
