POSITION TYPE: Full-Time Position Available

SALARY: $63,375 - $96,946 per annum*

  • The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $2,850 or $5,700 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.

DUTIES

Reporting to the Chair of Electrical Engineering Technology, Red River College Polytechnic is looking for an Instructor for Electrical Engineering Technology. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, advising of students, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction. Examples of subject areas are AC Circuits, Workshop Practices, Intro to Microcontrollers and C Programming. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma education in electrical or electronic engineering technology, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Significant Industry Experience in electronic engineering technology or a related field of work
  • Effective analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to teach on campus and remotely
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
  • Experience with analog and/or digital circuit theory and design
  • Experience with microprocessors and programming
  • Experience with basic use of hand tools/soldering
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
  • Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
  • Experience developing and instructing distance-delivered courses including online
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction
  • P.Eng or Certified Technologist

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
  • This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
  • Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
  • May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
  • This position may be required to travel
