The Department of Academic Upgrading requires part-time sessional instructors to teach Grade 11 and Grade 12 Equivalent Biology and Grade 11 Equivalent Chemistry during the Winter semester. This role is from December 15, 2025 - April 30, 2026.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in biology or related discipline, however a Bachelor of Education with a major or minor in Biological Sciences will be considered. Ability to teach chemistry courses and experience in teaching adults would be an asset. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:

  • Candidates must be able to apply different instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with different learning styles.

  • Knowledge of Northwestern Polytechnic courses and current educational technologies commonly found in classrooms (e.g., videoconferencing, D2L) are desired.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Highly qualified faculty, who seek to continuously improve instruction and meet the need of learners.

  • Student Focused.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A high level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
