Part Time Security Guard - WSIB Afternoon Shift

Position: Part Time Security Guard

Site: WSIB

Site Address: WSIB Place 300 Tartan Drive, London, ON N5V 4M9

Hours: Saturday & Sunday 16:00 – 00:00hrs

Payrate: $20.16/hr

Posting Date: April 22nd 2026

Internal Closing Date: April 27th 2026

External Closing Date: May 1st 2026

Working on assigned shifts, you will provide proactive and reactive security patrols and respond to incidents. You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to emergencies in a quick and efficient manner. In this role, it is essential that you are physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of time.

This site is a Government of Ontario Building.

Key responsibilities:

  • Monitor and patrol (foot and vehicle) the premises to ensure safety and security.
  • Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities.
  • Control access at TA points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.
  • Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activities.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to the management team.
  • Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting any unusual occurrences.
  • Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors as needed.
  • Cooperate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary.
  • Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.
  • Security personnel are to be conversant with emergency duties and procedures
  • Report incidents to appropriate personal as required
  • Liaise with other security staff on site
  • Liaise with bus drivers transporting TA workers
  • Provide assistance to all IOL contacts and contractors when requested
  • Utilize two-way radio for communicating site activities
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Ability to utilize security portable access readers

Prerequisites:

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
  • Authorized to legally work in Canada
