As an IT Support Technician, you will support IT operations for Banff Jasper Collection properties located in and around Banff, Alberta.

• Assist staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology
• Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines
• Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems
• One-on-one consultancy with end users and Support Services staff
• Independent analyses, communication and problem solving
• Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and judgement
• Assists staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines
• Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software
• Works with Service Desk and Network Operations staff as appropriate to determine and resolve problems received from clients
• Interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment
• Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems
• Trains and orients staff on use of hardware and software
• Assists in maintaining LAN/WAN records and, as appropriate, telephone systems
• Participates in an on-call rotation to ensure appropriate IT support using the tools mentioned above.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills Qualifications And Experience

• Practical experience in Information Technology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Products
• Information Technology certificate, diploma or related education preferred
• Valid driver’s license required / Strong “can-do,” attitude with willingness to be flexible and adaptable.
• Organized, highly motivated individual that has excellent project and task management skills
• Self-starter and thought leader for the Infrastructure department and is expected to bring ideas to the table for consideration.
• Ability to make decisions, solve problems and exercise good judgment.
• Professional, and able to patiently and effectively communicate complex concepts to audiences with Varying skill levels, in person, on the phone, and via email.
• Strong commitment to building positive working relationships.
• Willingness to work with a geographically dispersed team in a seasonal environment.
• Resourceful, with a curiosity to solve problems and create new solutions.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Sense of urgency to complete job duties accurately and in a timely manner.
• Sense of humor and ability to ‘let things roll’ when the unexpected happens.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Hospitality and service-focused mindset including the need to work successfully with both internal and external partners.
• Strong sense of prioritization and focus to complete tasks.
• Must have the ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs with assistance
• Must be willing and able to work indoor and outdoor in varied weather conditions
