Overview The Human Resources Department, RCMP Support Services Division, seeks an individual with outstanding work ethic and a can-do attitude to join their team. The PRIME Records Specialist is responsible for reviewing complex occurrence files, completing audits related to PRIME, UCR Scoring, Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), Crime Criminal Justice Statistics (CCJA), and Master Name Index (MNI). The successful candidate will have a strong technical background with the ability to develop and facilitate ongoing training. The role serves as the detachment’s PRIME Coordinator and is responsible for updating and communicating process, procedural, and system changes to other staff.
Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12, including or supplemented by PRIME, CPIC, and MNI courses plus considerable related experience, preferably in a Police Department; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Applicants must have the ability to secure and maintain an R.C.M.P. Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance for the duration of their employment with the RCMP Support Services Division.
Requirements

Considerable knowledge of the rules, regulations, policies and procedures governing the work performed.

Extensive knowledge of the methods, practices and procedures used in PRIME RMS 8.1 with an in-depth understanding of the Unified Crime Report (UCR) coding system that relates to the Criminal Code of Canada and other Federal and Provincial Statutes.

Sound knowledge of clerical and record keeping methods and procedures.

Relative knowledge of appropriate steps required when reviewing investigational files.

Review occurrence files to determine circumstances surrounding and nature of occurrence; to determine offences reportable to Statistics Canada utilizing the appropriate UCR codes according to prescribed rules; and to produce a variety of statistical reports on a regular basis.

Review file documents to ensure that all required information is recorded and to notify investigating members when files need correcting.

Update PRIME, CPIC, MNI, Known Offender (KO) records, including the Intellibook system for compliance.

Ability to maintain a professional working relationship with others and to work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders regarding any concerns relating to the work.

Communicate effectively, maintain strong business communications, both verbal and written, and demonstrate excellent listening skills.

Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC driver’s license
