THE ROLE Under the supervision of Arena Supervisor, the Rink Maintainer liaises with appropriate personnel for all ground repairs and tool requirements for initial rink layout prior to the skating season. They maintain good ice conditions by scraping, shovelling, brushing and hosing the ice. They remove snow from around the exterior of the rink boards and from the walkways of the recreation facilities, as required. The Rink Maintainer also ensures all interior/exterior electrical circuits and lighting are operational.
Qualifications Needed Education, Certifications and Licenses High school diploma AND some years of experience in a related field
OR
An acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience will also be considered.
Experience In ice rink maintenance
In operating ice rink equipment
Knowledge Of community centre facilities
Of health and safety practices
Competencies Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
Language Requirements English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset

Writing: None
Oral: Functional
