MANAGER, INTERAL CONTROLS AND RISK MANAGEMENT AT MASCO CANADA (On-Site – St. Thomas, ON Office) Build your future with Masco Canada! We’re looking for a Manager, Internal Controls and Risk Management to join our Finance team. What You Will Do Reporting directly to the VP, Finance, the Manager, Internal Controls and Risk Management is responsible for leading the development, testing, and monitoring of internal controls to ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. This role works closely with finance and operational teams to identify control gaps, recommend improvements, and help reduce risk. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of internal controls and audit practices are essential.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of internal control frameworks
  • Performing an annual risk assessment
  • Separate evaluation and/or ongoing review of ICFR controls
  • Reporting all control deficiencies
  • Conduct testing of internal controls to ensure compliance with policies and regulations
  • Solicits and trains separate evaluators (testers) of controls
  • Identify control gaps and recommend practical improvements
  • Assist in documenting processes, controls, and findings for audit purposes
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to strengthen control practices
  • Help prepare reports for management and external auditors
  • Monitor the effectiveness of controls and track remediation actions
  • Works closely with executive management
  • Provide assurance to Management the control environment is designed and operating effectively to support quarterly certification

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA, CIA, CMA , CA or workings towards certification is preferred
  • 5+ years of internal controls experience or knowledge or internal/external audit experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing a control/audit process for a Finance department
  • Familiarity with SOX, internal audit standards, and risk management practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDE)

  • Attention to detail when testing and documenting control activities
  • Problem-solving abilities to recommend control improvements and mitigate risks
  • Strong project management skills
  • Clear communication skills to report findings and collaborate with stakeholders
  • Understanding of audit and compliance standards to support regulatory alignment
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a structured environment
  • Team-oriented mindset with the flexibility to support multiple business areas
