KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Azure Cloud Engineering
- Architect, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available Azure infrastructure.
- Manage multiple Azure services (App Services, SQL Database, Tables/Blobs, Azure Monitor, Redis Cache, etc.)
- Monitor and optimize cloud cost, performance, and security.
Azure Cloud Security
- Implement and maintain robust security controls.
- Develop and enforce policies for identity and access management (RBAC, Azure AD, MFA).
- Configure and maintain Azure Security Center, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel (SIEM), and other monitoring/logging tools.
- Support audit readiness by implementing control measures, collecting evidence, and closing compliance gaps.
- Work closely with stakeholders to maintain up-to-date documentation and policies.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in Azure cloud and cybersecurity best practices.
- Liaise with consultants, auditors, legal, and stakeholders during SOC 2 readiness and audit cycles.
- Stay current on emerging Azure technologies and security threats.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with 3+ years in Microsoft Azure.
- Deep experience with Azure networking, security, and identity management.
- Proficient in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with Azure Defender, Sentinel, and related cybersecurity tools.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Familiarity with SOC 2 Type II requirements and controls (a plus).
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
- Other Microsoft certifications such as SC-100, SC-200.
