Job Description As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be responsible for providing operational and project management support for technology initiatives. By leveraging your analytical skills and technology expertise, you will take ownership of assignments, help drive clarity, analyze business requirements, and communicate requirements to the technology team.
Team Description The Public Affairs and Communications (PAC) Tech and Data team plays a key role in delivering technology solutions that enable the department’s strategic and operational objectives. The team partners closely with stakeholders across PAC to design, build, and enhance digital tools, applications, and data products that strengthen engagement, streamline operations, and enable data-driven decision-making through the use of modern platforms and technologies.
Reporting to the Director, PAC, Enterprise Systems Technology, you will be responsible for gathering and analyzing business requirements, configuring and supporting PAC systems, and helping to drive forward a roadmap of continuous improvement. Leveraging agile methodologies, you will work cross-functionally to ensure that technology solutions align with business goals and deliver meaningful outcomes.
Accountabilities
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions. Document and validate results with subject matter experts and drive the creation of strong system specifications that enable the development and/or acquisition of appropriate systems to meet business requirements.
- Liaise with application developers and CPP Investments’ business subject matter experts to brainstorm and document innovative solutions alternatives. Evaluate alternatives relative to business requirements and provide advice that is rooted in deep subject matter expertise.
- Participate in process design meetings and translating outcomes into as-is and to-be process design flows, identifying efficiencies and leveraging the capability of digital resources.
- Conduct process walkthroughs and validation with business subject matter experts. Document the key risks, mitigating controls, performance measures, cost drivers and business continuity plans for processes.
- Apply analytical and technical skills to investigate day-to-day system and business issues, determine the root cause and deliver viable solutions.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of business requirements, functional specifications, and project deliverables. Generate reports and updates for stakeholders, executive leadership, and project sponsors to communicate project status, risks, and issues
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or college diploma in related field.
- 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven process development skills and solid understanding of project life cycle and the capability to apply best practices knowledge to unique and dynamic situations.
- Proven ability to liaise with business subject matters in gathering of business requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing SaaS vendor relationships and facilitating collaboration between external partners, business stakeholders, and internal technology teams during the implementation of new solutions.
- Exceptional (written and verbal) communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with PAC systems and/or CRM solutions would be considered an asset.
- Experience in performing descriptive data analytics to identify trends and support data-driven decisions.
