International Business Manager - Canada
About the role
PURPOSE Provides hands-on consulting support and oversight to Master Franchisees to achieve category leadership and strong financial results. Priority areas include operational excellence, development & store openings, marketing & digital, business development and supply chain.
Key business partner with Master Franchisees, responsible for coaching and holding them accountable to the standards and reputation of the brand while maximizing sales and profitability growth while enhancing guest satisfaction and in-store experience.
Responsible for overall Franchisees performance and continuous improvement. Brings growth opportunities to life through effective business planning, data analytics & insights, restaurant excellence, team coaching, and relationship building based on trust and respect. Accountable for delivering the short- and long-term sales and profit targets, optimized four wall unit economics and development growth.
Responsibilities
- Provides guidance and support on business strategy and goals setting. Responsible for achieving regional EBITDA, Sales and Development annual goals.
- Manages strategy and execution of New Market entries, onboarding new franchisees and assisting them in market planning, site qualification, design & construction and opening sequencing.
- Develops annual operating plan and budget in line with our bigger strategic objectives, prepares monthly and quarterly forecast updates. Reviews and summarizes business data for senior management.
- Protects and nurture reputation of our brands, upholding the highest standards in operations, food safety and interaction with our guests.
- Ensures effective planning on strengthening the business fundamentals and profitability of all franchisee operations, driving high level of engagement, commitment, excellence and accountability.
- Evaluates margins and business results, identifies barriers to Franchisees profitability and takes appropriate action for solving issues. Leads and coordinates internal support teams in developing and executing corrective action plans.
- Establishes business goals and communicates results; shares best practices and encourages collaboration with all Franchisees
- Monitors and analyzes regional and key country performance data to determine opportunities for growth of business and to provide direction on investment returns, operating efficiency, margins and improved customer service.
- Influences partners/licensees on people development and provides guidance on organizational structure and succession planning. Utilize our coaching model by seeking first to understand, providing candid feedback, offering suggestions, and committing time and resources
- Coordinates regional implementation and execution of new products, LTOs, new suppliers’ programs, supply chain solutions, new brand visual identity, reporting and analytics initiatives and field training.
Education And Experience Qualifications
- Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and experience
- Minimum 10+ years of QSR or retail management experience in a multinational environment
- Demonstrated experience in new store openings and licensee/franchisee consulting in a multinational environment
- Strong financial and operations expertise
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS Or ABILITIES
- Global Mindset
- Strong understanding of the Canadian market, trade areas and business trends.
- Excellent mediation and negotiation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and the language(s) of assigned region
- Solid experience in managing businesses with full P&L responsibility with robust track record of accelerating growth or turning around underperforming businesses
- Strong relationship building skills; able to motivate and coach with excellent communication skills
- Knowledge and sensitivity to cultural differences within assigned region
