PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
As a Specialist, Income Tax, you’ll be a key player in our tax team—supporting income tax accounting, reporting, and compliance. You’ll collaborate across finance, tackle complex challenges, and help deliver high-impact results. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual Canadian tax provision calculations under US GAAP
- Prepare income tax disclosures for quarterly and annual external reporting under US GAAP
- Prepare internal tax reporting, return-to-provision adjustments, and account reconciliations
- Assist with Canadian and international tax compliance filings, audits, and documentation
- Provide support to the U.S. tax team on compliance and reporting
- Analyze financial transactions for tax implications and draft related disclosures
- Maintain organized tax files and ensure SOX compliance
- Respond to auditor and internal reviewer queries
- Utilize TaxPrep and SAP systems effectively
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or other relevant fields;
- Recognized accounting designation (CPA/CA/CMA/CGA);
- Minimum 3 years income tax experience

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
