Working alongside experienced engineers and project managers, you'll gain

YOUR IMPACT

  • Support the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects, including sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, water distribution networks, district energy piping, grading, and roadworks.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, consultants, approval agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams to develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Contribute to technical reports, engineering drawings, specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates.
  • Participate in projects from concept development through detailed design, tendering, construction, and client handover.
  • Assist with contract administration activities and field reviews during construction.
  • Help deliver projects that meet municipal, provincial, federal, and private-sector client requirements.
  • Work closely with technical specialists and project managers across WSP offices while building your engineering expertise.
  • Continuously develop your design, project coordination, and problem-solving skills through hands-on project experience and mentorship.

THE SKILLS THAT SET YOU APART

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Eligibility for Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • Up to 2 years of experience in municipal infrastructure design through academic, co-op, internship, or professional experience.
  • Familiarity with stormwater management, sanitary sewer systems, water distribution systems, and site development projects.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in team environments.
  • Familiarity with City of Ottawa Sewer and Water Design Guidelines and the site plan approval process is considered an asset.
  • Valid Ontario driver's licence is considered an asset and may be required for occasional site visits.
