Position Description The Inventory Specialist supports Milwaukee Canada’s Factory Service Centers (FSCs) by driving parts availability, optimizing inventory levels, and reducing repairs on hold due to missing components. This role plays a key part in improving repair turnaround times through effective inventory management, data-driven analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. The Inventory Specialist will work closely with both Canadian and U.S. service teams to monitor part health, manage stock levels, and maintain accurate min/max settings to ensure service efficiency and operational continuity.
What You Will Do:
- Monitor open service orders and proactively identify opportunities to complete repairs using available in-house inventory
- Coordinate sourcing of parts for branches, prioritize aging repairs, and oversee “Share the Spare” part requests across Canadian and U.S. locations.
- Leverage Power BI scorecard data and usage trends to reduce tool holds and enable single-touch repairs
- Perform regular reviews of min/max settings and lead deep dives into obsolete or discontinued SKUs to support scrap optimization and reduce dead stock.
- Maintain strong working relationships with U.S. Product Service teams to stay informed of SKU transitions
- Participate in weekly health calls to address Canadian inventory issues, and action scrap requests as needed
- Support inventory accuracy through backorder reviews, participation in Oracle cycle counts, and training of Branch Managers on inventory procedures and best practices.
What You Will Bring:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, filters, and formula logic)
- 2+ years of experience in inventory, supply chain, or operations support roles
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive mindset to identify issues and drive solutions
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Clear, professional communication skills with a collaborative approach across departments
- Comfortable presenting data insights and working with both branch-level teams and corporate stakeholders
- Experience supporting or learning ERP systems (Oracle experience a strong asset)
