About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Operational Readiness - Redevelopment, the Industrial Engineer provides leadership to care and service teams to minimize the impact and maixmize teh benefits the Cape Breton Redevelopment by researching, designing, developing and evaluating effective and efficient solutions to process and system design challenges involving patients, physicians, staff, equipment, technology and organizational structure. Expertise in the performance improvement methodologies, project management and change management techniques applied to solving complex problems is at the core of the Industrial Engineers' role.
By Facilitating conversations that inspire critical, innovative thinking and yield valuable business/operational insights, the Industrial Engineer supports operational leaders in identifying strategic improvement opportunities, informing optimal design and equipment/technology selections, and identifying/managing impacts of changes presented by Redevelopment initiatives.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Undergraduate Degree in Industrial Engineering from a recognized University required
- Minimum three (3) years' experience in Industrial Engineering required
- Must be registered with Engineers Nova Scotia and be licensed as a P.Eng or EIT or be eligible to do so
- PowerBI, Tableau or dashboard/data analytics experience is considered an asset
- Appropriate licensure/membership in professional organizations
- Master's level preparation in Health Services Administration, Business Administration or a related program an asset
- Project Management Professional certification an asset
- Change Management Certification (i.e. Prosci ADKAR) an asset
- Experience in major hospital redevelopment project an asset
- Certified Health Executive is an asset
- Competencies in other languages an asset

Hours
- Long Assignment, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
- Start date as soon as possible, with an anticipated end date of May, 2030 (approximately 5 years)
Compensation and Benefits
$43.80 - $54.74 Hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
