About the role
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Campus Store Manager, the Inventory Operations Assistant is responsible for the shipping, receiving and physical coordination of store inventory.
The incumbent must oversee the timely receiving, identifying, and sorting of incoming shipments for the Campus Store. The assistant verifies all inbound and outbound shipments and associated documents for accuracy and identifies discrepancies. The incumbent coordinates stock by monitoring stock and inventory and maintaining the stockroom, provides product ordering support, and performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as exceptional attention to detail.
- The incumbent must have the ability to handle frequent interruptions.
- Must maintain familiarity with email and inventory management systems, point-of-sale systems, and receiving software.
- Must have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic to be able to work in this fast-paced environment.
- Must maintain a commitment to workplace safety and proper handling of merchandise.
Education and Experience:
The above is normally acquired through:
- Completion of secondary school, plus one (1) year of post-secondary education (preference given to those who have graduated from a certificate or diploma in logistics and supply chain management).
- Three (3) years in a related receiving and shipping type position. Equivalencies in education and experience will be considered.
