Clinical Informatics Specialist - Oncology Adult and Paediatric PowerPlan Build
The Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) is the crucial bridge between healthcare providers and the technology that enables them to deliver high-quality patient care. Under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Informatics the CIS design, test, implement, evaluate, and perform ongoing enhancement of the electronic health record and supporting technologies.
The CIS role has informal leadership acting as a consultative and collaborative liaison, working closely with both clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to perform comprehensive workflow assessment, analyzing complex clinical challenges, requirements gathering and provide recommendations for resolution. By leveraging their clinical expertise, these professionals play a pivotal role in aligning electronic health record systems and supporting technologies with professional practice standards, best practices and organizational policies.
Rate of Pay: $46.79 per hour - $58.48 per hour
Status: Regular full-time
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours a week
Qualifications
- Successful completion of an Undergraduate Degree in Health Informatics, Information Management, or a health related field
- Master's Degree preferred
- Current registration in good standing with applicable Ontario regulatory college
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and participate in the redesign of complex clinical process
- Solid understanding of business and clinical workflow analysis, requirements gathering, documentation and system design
- Detailed understanding and working knowledge of Hospital Information Systems
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Vision, Purpose and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
