The Accounting Operations Coordinator plays an integral role in supporting the Finance Manager and requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills. As the successful candidate, you will be primarily responsible for daily banking activities, receivable processing, disbursement processing, reconciliations and report preparation.
-Hybrid working model based out of our Winnipeg, MB office, with three days in-office per week.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support daily cash management activities, including bank transactions, deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, and premium applications.
- Processing of Accounts Payable/Disbursement, remittance of premiums and taxes
- Complete account reconciliations, including investigating and resolving variances.
- Prepare and deliver accurate and timely monthly financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Responding to various Finance department inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional departments to gather necessary data and provide financial insights.
- Participate in ad hoc and special projects focused on process improvements, cost optimization, and operational efficiencies.
- Organize, compile, and maintain supporting documentation for audit requests.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Finance Manager to support departmental needs.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in business administration, accounting, finance, or any other related discipline
- Accounting reconciliations experience such as A/P, A/R to sub ledgers, bank reconciliations
- Accounts payable experience including invoice processing, vendor maintenance, purchase orders, payment processing would be considered an asset
- Accounts Receivable experience including invoice processing, deposit preparation, customer maintenance would be considered an asset
- Experience with MS Excel and accounting software such as Sage Intacct
- Ability to work independently as well as part of the team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills; strong problem-solving skills, strong communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
