About the role
The Power Engineer 4th Class is responsible for assisting with monitoring, repairs and maintenance of plant operations in accordance with Alberta Health Services and Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA) standards and practices. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 408 St. Michael's Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
A 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented with ability to prioritize. Computer literacy required (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel). Ability to communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing. Competence with tools, equipment, and test instruments used for maintenance, repair, and system monitoring. Ability to maintain composure and sound judgment in emergencies. Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications; locate operational data from manuals. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and technical problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum two years’ experience in a hospital or long-term care facility environment. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS/eFacilities) and building control systems (BCMS/BAS). Equivalencies in education and experience may be considered.
