WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
The Out-Patient Surgery (OPS) Clerk provides receptionist, clerical and patient centered duties that are essential to
efficient
patient flow. This role includes but is not limited to:
- Ensuring medical records, lab reports and other patient records are obtained, properly completed and securely stored while be readily accessible to physicians, nurses and other health care providers
- Booking tests
- Maintain supplies
- Coordinating unit administrative functions
- Assist in the efficient and effective operation of the unit
- Answer phones and provide top notch customer service to callers
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

Medical Office/Health Care Office Administration Certificate from an accredited post-secondary educational institution
-
One (1) year of unit clerk experience within the last three (3) years
-
Knowledge of alpha and terminal digit filing systems
-
General clerical experience including reception, filing, and ordering supplies
-
Demonstrated effective communication skills including but not limited to professional conversations, telephone etiquette, compassionate listening and utilizing critical thinking skills
-
Knowledge of medical terminology
-
Excellent performance record in alignment with STEGH’s Mission, Vision and Values
-
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
WHAT WE PREFER YOU TO HAVE:

Crisis Intervention Training
HOURS:
The successful candidate must be available to work all tours applicable to the department. In addition, this position must be flexible to occasional changes in hours when required to meet the operational needs of the department.
