About the role

We are looking for a Director, Wealth Operations to support our Individual Wealth (IW) business.

Reporting to the VP, Wealth Operations, Canada Operations, you will be responsible for building and continuously developing a high-performing team that supports the Individual Wealth business by delivering exceptional administrative services and consistently meeting established performance standards for all Individual Wealth customers.

We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented leader to oversee a complex portfolio of Individual Wealth operations, specifically within the manufacturing domain for Segregated Funds, Guaranteed Investment Options (GIOs), and Annuities. This role is responsible for ensuring operational alignment with enterprise objectives and driving measurable business outcomes. The successful candidate will translate organizational strategy into actionable plans, foster a high-performance culture, and provide strategic oversight across multiple functions. As a trusted advisor to senior leadership, this individual will focus on execution excellence, performance management, and continuous improvement.

What you will do

1. Strategic Oversight

You will provide strategic oversight by translating enterprise strategy into departmental plans and initiatives. You will monitor progress against key performance indicators and adjust priorities to respond to emerging opportunities or risks. This role requires fostering strategic thinking and ensuring cross-functional alignment, while serving as a key advisor to senior leadership on planning, execution, and organizational impact.

2. Execution & Team Leadership

You will lead teams to deliver results by setting clear priorities, managing resources effectively, and driving operational excellence. You will cultivate a high-performance culture through collaboration, talent development, and accountability. Ensuring departmental goals are aligned with broader enterprise objectives is central to this responsibility.

3. Reporting & Decision Support

You will synthesize and communicate the progress of portfolio initiatives, articulating the value at stake and strategic options. You will monitor industry trends to identify new opportunities and define success metrics that drive continuous, measurable improvement. This includes integrating value assessments and data into planning and finance processes to support informed decision-making.

4. Performance Management

You will establish and sustain a high-performance culture by aligning team and individual goals with strategic priorities. You will monitor outcomes using data-driven insights, provide timely feedback, support professional development, and address performance gaps. Continuous improvement will be a key focus to optimize team effectiveness and deliver measurable results.

5. Risk, Compliance & Quality Assurance

You will ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and quality standards. You will proactively identify and mitigate operational risks to safeguard business continuity and uphold the organization’s reputation.

What you will bring:

  • 8–10 years of industry experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity
  • Industry-related education is considered an asset (e.g., IFIC, CEBS, RPA, Securities)
  • Strong working knowledge of current product offerings and applicable legislative and audit requirements
  • Deep understanding of systems, processes, and digital tools used by both staff and customers
  • Proven success in leading diverse, high-performing teams within an inclusive environment to achieve exceptional business outcomes
  • Demonstrated commitment to superior customer service, with a focus on operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Experience applying process improvement methodologies to drive meaningful change and establish best practices
  • Skilled in change management and championing organizational transformation
  • Exceptional communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to coach and lead teams through ambiguity and change
  • Track record of setting clear goals, measuring performance, and coaching staff to achieve career growth and development opportunities
  • Market-leading service experience for customersensuring timely, accurate and compliant administration.

The base salary for this position is between $92,100 - $170,500 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
