About the role
About Splice N Connect Splice N Connect is a Calgary-based energy technology startup improving electrical grid reliability through continuous monitoring of power cable connections — the splices and terminations responsible for the majority of grid failures and a long-standing blind spot for customers. We're building a non-invasive, clamp-on smart sensor paired with a cloud analytics platform that predicts faults before they happen. We closed our pre-seed round in April and have signed pilot Letters of Intent with major utility and oil & gas companies. We're now moving from development into field pilot deployments — and we need someone to own how that happens on the ground.
The Role This is an operations leadership role for someone who thrives in new, fast paced, and challenging environments. As we prepare to execute our first pilot deployments, you'll own operational strategy and its implementation: turning high-level targets into concrete plans, coordinating the contractors and partners who make safe field deployments possible, and building the operational foundation we'll scale on. We are looking for someone who can work independently to take an objective and determine the next steps, key contacts, and timelines required to execute. This is a rare chance to get in early, wear multiple hats, and build something from the ground up. If a chance to take on new challenges in a fast paced environment with unlimited potential excites you… we want to hear from you!
What You'll Do Own operational strategy and execution for upcoming field pilot deployments Plan and coordinate with contractors, utility partners, and field crews to ensure safe, compliant deployments Translate and execute on high-level goals by developing structured plans, task breakdowns, and timelines Build the operational processes, documentations, and discipline that let us scale from a handful of pilot sensors to a fleet Manage shifting priorities and deadlines as a pre-seed startup's needs evolve Step into adjacent areas (vendor management, supply chain, go to market, whatever's needed) as typical for an early-stage startup
What We're Looking For ~10–15 years of experience, with an understanding of the overall energy industry and how they integrate (broadly utilities, oil & gas, or similar) A track record of operating independently and taking ownership from ambiguous starting points to delivered outcomes Strong project planning and coordination skills, especially with external contractors and field operations Comfort with safety-critical field environments and the planning that safe deployment demands Genuine adaptability and ability to learn quickly — you're energized, not frustrated, by changing priorities and working without a defined plan Strong communication and problem-solving skills including being comfortable talking to various stakeholders Willingness to travel as deployments require
Assets: An electrical or technical understanding of power systems Relevant energy industry experience Prior startup or early-stage experience
What We Offer A foundational leadership role at a well-backed, mission-driven energy tech startup with the chance to grow as we further scale the company and its team Compensation includes both salary + equity The chance to work in a fast paced and exciting early-stage company and be part of determining the companies direction The chance to shape how a new category of grid-monitoring technology reaches the field
How to Apply Send your resume and a brief note on why this role fits you to info@splicenconnect.com. Splice N Connect is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds.

About Splice N Connect Inc.
Empowering Grid Reliability and Visibility Through Innovative Monitoring Solutions
Splice N Connect is developing innovative technology to transform grid reliability and efficiency, providing real-time insights into the health of critical infrastructure. Our mission is to enable the efficient management of energy grids and industrial systems by equipping operators with the tools they need to prevent outages, optimize performance, and respond to issues before they escalate.
We are working on solutions for industries such as oil and gas, mining, renewables, and utilities, where efficient infrastructure management is essential. Our hardware, currently under development, integrates advanced sensors into a single device designed to continuously monitor critical grid components. This device will offer operators the ability to track performance and detect anomalies in real time. Paired with our in-progress software platform, which will analyze and store real-time data, Splice N Connect’s solution aims to provide a comprehensive view of grid health and enable more proactive maintenance and smarter decision-making.
Born out of the Avatar Innovations Inc., our development is being shaped by a deep understanding of the technical challenges and regulatory standards in Canada and the US. We are collaborating with Tangent Engineering to design and build our hardware, ensuring it meets the high standards required for diverse applications.
As we continue to develop and refine this technology, our goal is to empower industries with the tools they need to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance reliability. Whether it’s in traditional sectors like oil and gas or growing industries like renewables, Splice N Connect is focused on building a more resilient and sustainable future for energy and infrastructure management.
