We're Hiring - Human Resources Assistant About The Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Human Resources Assistant to join our team. This position plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources Department and ensuring accuracy in employee records, onboarding, and HR processes. The ideal candidate is collaborative, proactive, and committed to providing excellent internal support to staff across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the onboarding of new employees, ensuring a smooth and welcoming process
- Create and maintain personnel files, including uploading certificates, evaluations, and criminal record checks in Atrieve
- Process and track changes to employee absences as needed
- Submit and follow up on tickets for technology access, FOB requests, and PASI updates
- Manage employee additions and changes in Hour Zero and Public Works systems
- Prepare and maintain Emergency Contact cards
- Complete Employee Verification Data updates as required.
- Maintain accurate records for Seniority Lists and Public Board Reports
- Assist with the coordination of the Staff Recognition process
- Create, process, and finalize Payroll Advice Forms
- Assist with Workers Compensation entries
- Provide back-up to Sub Services
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Administration or Human Resources
- Previous experience in an administrative or HR support role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Proficiency with HRIS systems - experience with Atrieve is an asset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
