Full Time, Department of Anesthesia

Anesthesiologist with Sub-Specialty Cardiac Anesthesia/Thoracic & Vascular Anesthesia training

McMaster University, Department of Anesthesia, in conjunction with Hamilton Health Sciences, invites applications for a full-time clinician educator with sub-specialty training in cardiac anesthesia and/or thoracic & vascular anesthesia. This is a full-time academic clinical faculty position for a period of three years (renewable). Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The Department of Anesthesia at McMaster University is affiliated with Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, as well as many community-based hospital partners. We offer a wide range of comprehensive clinical services, while also managing robust clinical research.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated clinical research experience, sub-specialty certification and/or training in Cardiac Anesthesia, and/or Thoracic & Vascular Anesthesia as well as experience working in an academic health sciences centre focused on training our medical students and residents, and supporting the training of clinical fellows. The successful candidate must have (or be eligible for) licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

  • An up-to-date curriculum vitae and cover letter including a description of training and research experience
  • An academic plan of goals and objectives
  • The names, titles, and email addresses of three professional referees
  • A brief statement describing any contributions made or planned in relation to advancing equity, diversity and inclusion or inclusive excellence in teaching, research, or service within higher education, community-based or other profession settings (2-page maximum)
