Distribution Manager
About the role
Summit Search Group has partnered with Exceldor Cooperative, an Award-Winning, longstanding Manitoba-based organization. On their behalf, we seek to recruit a Distribution Manager to join their Blumenort location. Reporting to the Director, Processing Operations, the Distribution Manager will plan, organize, direct, manage, and is responsible for the department operations and budget. This includes warehousing, inventory control, transportation and logistics administration.
The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with experience supervising teams, managing freight, shipping operations, and operations efficiency. They excel in supplier negotiations, process improvements, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. With expertise in inventory management, HACCP processes, and expert documentation, the successful candidate will collaborate across departments to meet business goals and enhance profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coach, and train department workforce and regularly complete established GPC performance management reviews with all direct reports.
- Manage freight-out, freezer, & shipping departments to achieve optimum results operationally and financially.
- Liaise & negotiate with 3rd party suppliers to be within budgeted parameters while achieving customer specifications/expectations.
- Maintain metrics & analyze data to assess performance and/or develop process improvements.
- Oversee the correct implementation of product storage, distribution, & HACCP processes.
- Collaborate with internal departments to accurately complete bi-annual physical counts along with the daily management of inventory levels & rotation at all storage locations.
- Oversee the procedures & documentation requirements for export shipping.
- Coordinate internal resources to efficiently complete invoicing and credit note functions.
- Maintain awareness & compliance with scheduling, health & safety, food safety regulations and collective agreement.
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Education and/or 5+ year’s experience managing within a supply chain role.
- Proven track record of leading and motivating others.
- Broad knowledge of operations and strategy/supply chain management processes.
- Proven experience in continuous quality performance improvement, planning, and organizing.
